DUCS stands for DBIT (Don Bosco Institute of Technology) Undergrad Computer Society. DUCS exists to pursue technical activities beyond and above the scope of the curriculum. We are a volunteer-based society that only admits DBIT students and faculty. Our mission is to provide both infrastructure and support for your technical projects. It is an organization that provides for knowledge building and sharing within the DBIT community. Technically speaking, DUCS is more of a framework than an organization. The DUCS framework aims for excellence and professionalism, and prescribes various methods of achieving these goals. Basically, volunteers form what are called as “Working Groups” or “Special Interest Groups”, whose method of internal functioning is not regulated by DUCS. However, the output of these groups is regulated by DUCS, in that all of their work follows certain guidelines established by the DUCS framework. These guidelines help ensure standardization and promote excellence, consistency and professionalism. One such special interest group gave birth to an organization called CRAVE. Today CRAVE and DUCS work together in achieving their individual goals and maximizing the potential of DBIT infrastructure. DUCS operates under the aegis of the Computer Department, and is intensely focused on activities that concern the college. It hopes to be a responsible group whose work is always open to review. It aims to be an elite organization that stands out and has no equal anywhere.
